Why Our Practice is Called “Forever Smiles”

For the Knorr family, 2014 was a year of incredible joy, followed by agonizing pain. Our angel, Lauren Emily, was born, but only lived for six-and-a-half months before she returned to Heaven…

We were crushed.

But this community lifted us up and took care of us in a way that made us understand that relationships are the sole core of our practice. We remember the love and support total strangers provided us while we worked through one of the lowest points in our lives.

Every day, we remind ourselves of that support, and the best way we can honor our community is to commit to showing that same level of comfort and care when they walk through our doors.

The dentistry we perform is necessary, and for us, it’s enjoyable to give back to our community in this way. But, most importantly, we have created an abundance of meaningful connections with countless members of our community that we will closely hold onto forever.

With every patient we treat, I am reminded of my little girl, who I cannot wait to hold again… some day.

That’s why we’re called Forever Smiles.

Meet Our Doctors

Shawn D. Knorr, DDS

Shawn D. Knorr, DDS

Dr. Knorr was born and raised in Hutchinson, MN. How a “Hutch” boy ended up in Glencoe basically came down to his wife saying you need to get a job. All jokes aside, Glencoe has been a wonderful community for Dr. Knorr to get to know and he loves the genuine, deep relationships he has built through the years with patients.

Graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1997, Dr. Knorr played junior hockey for a couple years. Taking a turn to get serious about academics, Dr. Knorr attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, where he played hockey and tennis, and was an Academic All American in Hockey. After graduating with honors from St. John’s, Dr. Knorr attended the University of Minnesota Dental School. Dr. Knorr enjoyed dental school greatly, as a result he graduated with honors and won awards in dental research, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and was selected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Wanting to gain more experience, Dr. Knorr elected to complete a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. During dental school, Dr. Knorr married his high school sweetheart, Dr. Jessica Knorr, who is an orthodontist. Moving back to Hutchinson, where they have many family members, they both began their working careers and family.

Drs. Knorr have had 5 beautiful daughters, Ava, Julia, Lauren, Layla, and Caroline. Their children have been one of the greatest blessings they have experienced. Dr. Knorr prides himself on being a husband and father first in his life. Spending time with his family is his hobby. They enjoy traveling, boating, playing board games, hiking, skiing, camping, watching movies, joking around, snuggling, reading stories, and enjoying life together. Dr. Knorr and family added a boy dog, Buddy, a Bernedoodle, to the mix in 2019.

Dr. Knorr’s next love is Dentistry. He is passionate about keeping abreast of the latest technology and techniques. His daughters make fun of him for reading endless non-fiction about dentistry. Ava commented that he used to be fun after seeing him read a dental textbook about dental occlusion. Areas Dr. Knorr is passionate about in staying on the cutting edge are cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, TMJ and bite health, implant dentistry, and whole-body health. Dr. Knorr loves all the art and beauty he creates or replicates in peoples’ smiles. Bringing a smile back to health after years of damage and potential neglect is highly gratifying for him. Central to Dr. Knorr’s philosophy of care is creating and maintaining strong relationships with patients.

Being a man grounded in faith and spirituality, he strives to be loving, kind, and caring to all his patients. From this foundation he can openly and honestly present treatment recommendations he would recommend for his own mouth, family member, or close relative. A smile and health are of utmost importance to Dr. Knorr so he wants every patient to be able to have that “Hollywood smile”. Being committed to each relationship, Dr. Knorr does not quit until the patient is 100% satisfied. Dentistry is no small investment and he wants everyone to be a happy, raving fan of Forever Smiles.

Meet Our Team

Jenna

Advanced Dental Therapist

It is most important to Jenna that all of her patients feel comfortable during their visit to Forever Smiles. The moment her patients smile and they discover a new sense of confidence, is her greatest reward – even better once she has truly gotten to know them in the practice and out in the community. In fact, you’ve probably seen her around town volunteering with Water Carnival or coaching girls’ youth hockey. Jenna is also a member of the Jaycees and is a member of the Hutchinson Chamber.

Jenna is an advanced dental therapist – a licensed dental professional who practices as part of the oral health team, similar to a nurse practitioner – and in this role she provides preventive and restorative services including pediatric procedures, fillings and routine exams.

Jenna grew up in New Prague, MN, and completed her bachelor’s degree in biology at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN; then in 2014 she graduated with her Master’s degree in Dental Therapy from the University of Minnesota. She then received her Advanced Dental Therapy Certification in June 2017. Jenna is a member of the Minnesota Dental Therapy Association and stays up to date with current information and practices.

She lives in Buffalo Lake, MN, with her husband Brian, daughter Reese and the family dog. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going out on the lake, golfing and hockey.

Denise

Hygienist

Denise began her dental hygiene career in 1985, and to this day she loves what she does – helping patients maintain their dental and overall health. Originally from rural South Dakota, Denise moved to Glencoe upon graduating from the University of South Dakota. She and her husband Jeff live on a hobby farm near Glencoe. They have four sons and one grandson. In her free time, Denise likes to play piano, spend time in her flower garden, and read.

Stacy

Clinic Manager

As the Clinic Manager, Stacy gives 100% to both her team and our patients. She loves being a part of Forever Smiles, staying on the cutting edge of technology, and providing a high level of care.

Stacy is a certified and licensed dental assistant and brings over 30 years of experience in the dental profession. She takes an extensive amount of continuing education to keep up with the latest technology and trends in dentistry, and she’s a firm believer in learning something new every day.

When she’s not helping patients achieve the smiles they’ve always deserved, Stacy loves traveling with her husband Casey, and enjoys kayaking, running and reading.

Joleen

Hygienist

Joleen feels most rewarded when she has the opportunity to teach patients about improving their health. She has had a long and fruitful career helping people, first when she spent 15 years to serve people with disabilities, and then beginning in 2000, Joleen worked for Dr. T. A. Schoeneberger, until she joined Forever Smiles in 2019. She finds being a team member at Forever Smiles to be very rewarding, she loves dental hygiene, and she’s so happy she chose it as her career. Joleen loves to socialize with her patients – many of whom she’s known for years. Glencoe is truly home for Joleen, and when she’s at home she likes to garden, sew, ring handbells in her church choir, do puzzles and visit with family and friends.

Bethany B.

Hygienist

Bethany values the personal relationships she develops with each patient the meets, and she sincerely cares about the oral and overall health of each patient she treats. In fact she feels privileged to know her patients put their trust in her and the compassionate team at Forever Smiles. Bethany has served the Glencoe community as a dental hygienist since 2002 following her graduation from Mankato State University. She and her husband live in the country with their three beautiful children where she loves to read and take part in the various activities in which her children are involved.

Sheryl V.

Hygienist

Patients feel like family to Sheryl, and she has loved building life-long relationships with them since she became a licensed dental hygienist in 1991. Sheryl is married and has two grown children. She loves to travel, watch sports, stay involved in youth missions, venture out in the great outdoors, as well as spend time with friends, family and her fur babies.

Brittany

Dental Assistant

Providing the best, up-to-date care, materials and technology to her patients is the most important thing about Brittany’s job, so she spends as much time as she can learning. But she also gets the same thrill meeting with patients and getting to know each person’s own story, because then she feels like she can truly connect with them in a way they feel more like family than “just a patient.” Brittany grew up right here in Glencoe (“Go GSL!” she says), and moved to Hutch shortly after getting married. When she isn’t working, she’s kept busy with her two sons. In the summer they try to get out as much as they can.

Sheila

Dental Assistant

Your smile is what Sheila cares most about. She has been a dental assistant since 1997, and started working with Dr. Knorr in 2009. In her free time she loves spending time with her husband, two daughters and many various pets, and she also likes camping and deer hunting.

Michelle

Dental Assistant

Creating smiles in the dental lab, and helping you get your smile back is what Michelle loves most about working at Forever Smiles. She’s worked in the dental profession since the age of 16, and graduated from Dakota County Technical College as a licensed dental assistant. She currently lives in Glencoe with her daughter and enjoys weightlifting, cooking, reading and listening to true crime podcasts in her free time.

Jordan

Hygienist

Jordan feels privileged to inspire her patients – all from the community in which she grew up – to improve their oral health every day. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree of science in dental hygiene. When Jordan isn’t working at Forever Smiles, she loves to spend time with her two daughters, swim, boat, go on walks and hang out with friends.

JJ

Office Manager

JJ joined the Forever Smiles team in 2016 as the office manager and insurance coordinator. Since then, she has been an integral part in the expansion of Forever Smiles as it grew from a four-operatory practice to a 14-operatory practice – more than doubling in size. She feels like working alongside Dr. Knorr and assisting in designing the new Forever Smiles building that was finished in 2019 has been such an incredible experience. She truly enjoys working with an ambitious dentist and dental team who are always looking for new ways to advance the practice in all aspects. JJ is a self-proclaimed “Jill” of all trades, an amateur DIY-er, and is willing to figure out any and all problems that come her way. She is married to her husband Clayton and is a busy mom to twin boys and another just starting school who keep her on her toes daily. If she ever gets free time, you can find her remodeling rooms in her house, or on the golf course enjoying summers with friends.

Jessica

Financial/Insurance Coordinator

Jessica joined Forever Smiles in April 2014 as a Finance/lnsurance Coordinator. She has more than 20 years of office experience and provides exceptional customer service for Forever Smiles patients. She takes a lot of pride in her job and loves what she does working alongside her coworkers. Jessica was born and raised in Glencoe and loves small-town living. She has a black lab named Blue and enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, going to the gym and exploring new wineries.

Amy was born and raised in Glencoe and still very much enjoys living and working here. Amy joined the Forever Smiles team in 2018 after her youngest child went off to school. Since then, she has enjoyed creating solid relationships with her team and patients. Amy and her husband Mitch have three children and two dogs. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and watching the many sports her children play.

Sadie attended High Tech lnstitute and graduated in 2008 as a medical assistant. ln her free time she enjoys taking adventurous road trips with her fiance Jeff, flower gardening and checking out home decor boutiques.

She has more than 20 years of dental experience, and is both a registered dental hygienist and a licensed dental assistant. Jennifer, her husband and two children live in rural Glencoe. She enjoys running, gardening, camping, traveling, coffee (!!), and watching her children play various sports.
